Help us to trial U-PIC!
If you are aged between 14 and 18 years, would you like to help us test U-PIC by using it in your therapy sessions and telling us what you think?

What is U-PIC?
U-PIC is a short therapy preference form, asking questions about how much or little you want some preferences in therapy. You and your therapist, or counsellor, fill in U-PIC together.

When would I test it?
We are looking for young people aged 14 to 18 years either in therapy, or soon to start therapy.

How would I test it?
You'll use U-PIC twice during your therapy sessions, and tell Charlotte, the researcher, how it went for you each time.
Research shows that therapy preferences can improve therapy experiences. U-PIC can help you decide how you want your therapy to be. Perhaps you want to be CREATIVE, or TAKE CHARGE, including setting your OWN therapy goals. Or perhaps you'd prefer your THERAPIST to direct your therapy, or to HELP you find ways of EXPRESSING yourself.
We want young people to test U-PIC in their therapy sessions with their therapist from autumn 2025 to spring 2026. This means that you would get to try it out and tell us how it went. You will be reimbursed for your time with a £30 gift voucher of your choice.
Charlotte will ask you some questions about how you experienced U-PIC and how it was for you filling out the form with your therapist. Each interview will be the same length as a therapy session. Your voice will be recorded and what you say will contribute towards the study's results. It is all confidential and anonymous. No-one will know who you are.

Scan the QR code below, or click on the link, and ask your parents or legal guardian to fill in their contact details. Thank you so much for your interest.
We will pay you £30 for your two interviews with gift voucher of your choice. All contact details are kept temporarily, and will be deleted as soon as possible. Charlotte will set up a meeting with you and your parent/legal guardian (if under 18 years old) and share with you all the details you need to make an informed decision on whether or not you want to take part.
